America’s Cup and Louis Vuitton Cup to be on display at the Auckland On Water Boat Show

Visitors to this year’s Auckland On Water Boat Show will have the chance to see the America’s Cup and Louis Vuitton Cup close up, as they go on display during the four day show. The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron will have a strong presence at the country’s largest on water boat show this year, highlighting the best of New Zealand sailing. Located in the Rakino Room, Level 3 of the VEC, the Squadron will present a special showcase of its successful sailing programmes, club membership options, and apparel. The Squadron will also have both the America’s Cup and Louis Vuitton Cup on display on the Saturday and Sunday of the show.

“This is an opportunity not to miss! It’s never too late to learn how to sail, take a picture with the America’s Cup and meet some of the team behind the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and Emirates Team New Zealand,” says Hayden Porter, general manager of the Squadron.

The innovative approach ETNZ showed to design, engineering and boat building during their campaign will also be on display at the show, with many show exhibitors having contributed to the successful Cup campaign. Both Emirates Team New Zealand’s and Oracle Team USA’s boats were built to a large degree in New Zealand by New Zealand craftsmen, with New Zealand boatbuilders still working in both camps.

The 2017 Auckland On Water Boat Show will have a range of inboard and outboard engines, solar technology, electronics, navigation, safety devices, fishing equipment, kayaks and other watersports equipment, alongside a huge array of motor and sailing vessels on the water. The show runs from 28 September to 1 October in Auckland’s Viaduct.

Tickets are available now with online purchasers gaining access to savings, and entries into the draw to win great prizes.
